Descending along a gently sloping rocky wall to approximately 42 meters, you’ll find yourself immersed in a vibrant underwater world. The wall is a tapestry of colors, adorned with large gorgonian sea fans ranging from deep purple to bright orange. Explore the small holes and cracks along the wall, which are homes to thousands of red tooth triggerfish, their forked tails peeking out.
As you navigate the wall, you’ll encounter a diverse array of marine life. Numerous nudibranchs crawl along the surface, while mantis shrimps cautiously hide in crevices. Keep an eye out for giant frogfish camouflaged among the sponges. Above, towering black coral trees provide shelter for butterflyfish and hawkfish.
The rich marine environment also attracts larger species. Octopus and cuttlefish are commonly spotted, as well as schools of moorish idols and razor fish. If luck is on your side, you may even catch a glimpse of an emperor angelfish.
If the current is mild, consider finishing your dive by slowly swimming towards shore. Along the way, you’ll pass a flat landscape dotted with fire urchins and occasional barrel sponges, until you reach the shallower reefs. However, be prepared for a long swim! This dive is particularly rewarding for those using nitrox.
